This position offers flexible remote/hybrid work scheduling. We are targeting candidates who are located within the commutable area and able to work 2-3 days/week at our Fond du Lac, WI home office.

Society Insurance is seeking a Vice President-Chief Claims Officer to join our executive team. This position will be responsible for the company's claims activities for all lines of business and the management of all claims functions in order to achieve company goals for loss adjustment expenses, claims severity, customer service, policyholder retention, and company profitability. The Vice President-Chief Claims Officer will assure the proper evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of claims.
About the Role
Partners with the Executive Team in the development and execution of overall claim direction through strategic planning.
Drives operational performance and delivers outstanding claims-related results including loss severity, loss adjustment expenses, and other claim metrics.
Establishes policies and procedures for all claims employees to assure prompt, accurate and equitable service is provided to policyholders and claimants.
Maintains proper case reserving practices to ensure reserve adequacy and company solvency.
Identifies and implements strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the claims functions that supports the Company's growth and profitability goals.
Monitors claim developments and trends within the Property/Casualty insurance industry and communicates significant findings to the department and executive team.
Thorough working knowledge of insurance contracts, state legal requirements, and current industry trends and practices.
Participates in meetings to discuss new products, changes to current products, and other areas which address company growth and profitability. Builds and manages business relationships with vendors.
Work in collaboration with other leaders to ensure consistent compliance with state and federal departments of insurance and other regulatory agencies.
Serves as a role model in ethical behavior.

What it Will Take
College degree in business, insurance, economics, or related field.
15 years of demonstrated multi-line claims handling or related experience in insurance or comparable industry.
10 years of successful leadership, execution, and management.
Outstanding knowledge of all aspects of a claim operation with a significant level of demonstrated past successful achievements and advancement.
Excellent communication skills to successfully work with policyholders, claimants, management staff, agency force, and employees.
Recognized high-level designation(s) (examples may include: CPCU, AIC, CIC, ARM, AU) and ongoing industry education.
Management experience to include development of direct reports.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Excellent business judgment and analytical skills.
Must have the highest standard of honesty and integrity.
Master's degree and/or Juris Doctor degree highly desirable.
Prior executive experience at a property/casualty insurance carrier highly desirable.
